What is Archery Tag?
Imagine dodgeball, but swap the balls for padded arrows and a bow – that is the basis of Archery Tag!
Just as in Lasertag and Paintball, two or more teams play against each other and try to hit their opponents with Archery Tag arrows.
The first team to eliminate all its opponents wins. It is a childishly fun activity where you get the chance to live out your childhood dreams and take the lead role as Robin Hood.
Who can play?
Whether it is a bachelorette party, a bachelor party, team building, a company party or a fun activity for a group of friends, you will not be disappointed. Archery Tag suits everyone who loves speed, excitement and challenges – young and old.
The only limitation is that players must be strong enough to draw the bow. We have therefore set a recommended minimum age of 12.
Where can we play?
We offer Archery Tag only at the customer’s location and not at our own facility. If you do not have a suitable place, we can usually arrange it at our nearby sports ground in Tingstäde.
We are fully mobile across Gotland. The location should be a larger green area such as a meadow, a lawn or a soccer field – or a larger indoor venue, for example a sports hall.
You decide the date, time and place. We arrive in good time, set up the arena and prepare everything together with you.
How many players?
The game is based on two teams on the field with three to seven players each. Our maximum capacity is currently 16 players at a time.
If there are more of you, we create several teams that take turns competing against each other. Whatever the number, we tailor a setup that suits your event.

Tried, tested & safe
Our equipment
All equipment is tried and tested, safe and specially designed for Archery Tag. Every player gets their own bow and protective mask.
Every game starts with a safety briefing and some quick technique training so that everyone knows how to handle the equipment.

The bow
The Archery Tag bow is your trusty companion and best friend – together with the protective mask it makes up your basic equipment.
The bows are specially designed for Archery Tag, so no previous archery experience is needed.
The draw weight is only 20 lbs with a draw length of about 26 inches. This keeps the arrows from traveling too fast and means that younger players can take part too.
The large hole in the middle of the bow holds the arrow in place. Thread the arrow through the hole, hook the nock onto the string, draw the bow with your fingers over the string guard, aim and release. Works equally well for right- and left-handers.

Arm guard
The arm guard helps you avoid contact between the string and your arm and fits both right- and left-handers. It is not mandatory but is there for anyone who wants it.
With the right technique the string should not hit your forearm, but in a fast-paced match the bow may be angled slightly inwards – and if you are playing in short sleeves, that snap is not very pleasant.

The arrows
You do not carry the arrows from the start – they are laid out in the middle of the field. At the start signal you need to grab an arrow quickly and take cover on your own half. Then the arrows fly back and forth across the arena.
Anyone hit by an arrow is eliminated. But you can get back into the game if a teammate catches an incoming arrow in the air – a common and much-appreciated feature.

The foam tip
The arrows are specially made with a padded foam tip. Inside the foam there is a flat plastic foot – no sharp arrowhead. Arrows with damaged foam are taken out of play immediately.
Do you know dodgeball?
General rules
Archery Tag is often compared to dodgeball. If you have played dodgeball, you will feel at home with the rules.

The playing area
The playing area is usually 24 × 11 meters, divided into a neutral zone in the middle (6 × 11 m) and two action zones (9 × 11 m). There are 3–5 obstacles in each action zone depending on the number of players. With 5 obstacles the area may need to be extended to 30 × 15 meters.
What is the aim?
The goal is to hit your opponents with the padded arrows. You may duck, dodge and dive to avoid being hit – and you can even catch incoming arrows. If you catch an arrow in the air without it hitting you first, the shooter is eliminated and you may bring an eliminated teammate back into the game.
What happens when you are hit?
If you are hit anywhere on your body, even on the bow, you are out. In most game types you step off and wait at the side of your team’s action zone. In some variants you sit down where you were hit.
How do I get back into the game?
When a teammate catches an incoming arrow in the air – that rule applies in all game types. In some games there are targets that revive teammates when hit, and in Medic one player on each team can revive others by laying a hand on them.
How does the game start?
The teams stand at the back of their action zones. All arrows are in the neutral zone in the middle. At the start everyone runs there to grab an arrow each. As soon as you have left the neutral zone you may shoot – hits inside the neutral zone do not count, and you may not shoot there either.
Note! The mask must be worn at all times.
All activity is at your own risk.
The most common game modes
Game types
There are many game modes. The most common are Team vs Team, Medic and Capture the Flag.

Team vs Team
Two teams that are as even as possible. If you are hit you are eliminated, but you can come back if a teammate catches an arrow in the air or hits the target in the opponents’ action zone. The first team to eliminate the other wins.

Medic
Like Team vs Team, but each team has a medic with an armband. Anyone who is hit goes down on one knee and waits for the medic to revive them by laying on a hand and counting to ten. Take out the opponents’ medic first! An eliminated medic can only come back as a regular player.

Capture the Flag
Each team hides a flag in its action zone. Send a runner – without a bow – across the field to fetch the opponents’ flag. The runner can be hit and eliminated on the way. The first team to bring home the opponents’ flag wins.
