FAQ
Questions & answers
Here you will find answers to the most common questions about paintball and activities with us. If you are going to play with us, we recommend reading “What should I think about before the game?”
Before your visit
What should I think about before the game?
Here is a short list of things to keep in mind if you are going to play paintball with us.
- Shoes – Make sure you have good shoes suitable for running in the forest. Do not come in your favorite shoes, sandals or high heels.
- Contact lenses – If you wear glasses but have contact lenses, it can be a good idea to use them. Glasses work fine under the mask, but the risk of reduced visibility because they fog up increases.
- Drinks & snacks – It gets quite sweaty, so it can be a good idea to bring something to drink. We often have water and soft drinks for sale. If you would like something else after the game, such as hot dogs or burgers, our barbecue area is at your disposal. We light the barbecue for you so that the coals are ready after the game. Just make sure to tick Borrow the barbecue when you book.
- Payment – We accept card payments through our iZettle card terminal, Swish or cash directly after the game. We can also invoice companies.
- Teams – You decide the teams yourselves, but it can be handy to have talked it through beforehand.
- Coverall size – We do not always know how big all the players are. If you know you want a larger or smaller size, it helps if we know before the game. Our camouflage coveralls come in everything from S to 5XL. There is always something that fits.
- Bunny suit – Want to spice up your paintball visit and dress someone up? It is very popular at bachelor and bachelorette parties to dress the bride or groom as a bunny, but you are of course welcome to rent it on other occasions too. Let us know when you book if you want to rent the bunny suit. It costs 50 SEK to rent.
- Schedule – Do you have a time to keep? It is not unusual for our visitors to have a packed schedule, especially at bachelor or bachelorette parties. Let us know beforehand and we will adapt the games accordingly.
- Buying paintballs – If you think you will use a lot of paintballs, it can be a good idea to agree with your friends and share a box of 2 000 at a better price, rather than each buying a pod or bag. We always bring more paintballs than you could reasonably need, but there is no reason for you to pay too much. Have a look at our price list for paintball prices.
How do we find the field?
Our field in Lokrume is quite easy to find. To get straight to the field, follow the directions below. If you miss the turn-off to the field, you can always drive on to Tingstäde church and give us a call, and we will meet you there.
Our directions start from Visby.
- Take Visbyleden (road 148) and drive north for about 20 km. Have a quick look at the map if you are not familiar with the roads on our little island.
- Drive through Bro and continue north towards Tingstäde.
- After you pass the second signposted turn-off to the right towards Lokrume, there are about 2 km left to the field. There are large open fields on both sides of road 148. On the right-hand side you can see the forest “approaching” the road.
- You will now see a sign in a yellow and black striped frame with the word “PAINTBALL” in white. Turn right at the sign and you have arrived at the paintball field’s parking lot.
- Park the car and follow the gravel road into the forest. You will soon see the signs for the barbecue area and the shooting range, where we will be waiting for you.
How many can we be?
We have 40+ complete sets of equipment and a large field suitable for games with 6 to 40 players. For small groups it also works well to use just a smaller part of the field.
If more than 40 of you want to take part on the same occasion, you can split into 3 teams and take turns so that all teams play each other. The third team, which is not playing, can conveniently have a barbecue while they wait.
Hard to get enough people together?
If you find it hard to get enough people together for paintball, you can join our open games, which are held regularly all year round in cooperation with Gotlands Paintballklubb.
You rent equipment from us and there is no minimum number of participants.
Games are usually held on Sundays from 11:00 and are posted under Open games. During the summer we also tend to run open games midweek on Wednesday evenings.
Is there running water?
Unfortunately the field is out in the forest with no running water, so you cannot shower after the game. Luckily this is Gotland, and here you are never far from the water.
Our recommendation is to continue north on Tingstädevägen (road 148) after the game until you reach Tingstäde träsk, about 5 km from the field. Tingstäde träsk is a beautiful lake here on the island – the second largest after Bästeträsk – and a really lovely place for a swim, with both a jetty and toilets. In Tingstäde itself you will also find a small grocery shop and several places to eat, from traditional Swedish food at the Military Museum to Thai food at Thairauken.
We always bring drinks for sale, so you can quench your thirst during the game.
Safety & age
Does it hurt?
Does it hurt to get hit? The question that always comes up.
You can feel a paintball hit, but it rarely hurts. It is more common for a hit to go unnoticed while the adrenaline is pumping than for it to really hurt. Of course you can be unlucky and get a mark, but we have NEVER had anyone who wanted or needed to leave the field because of an injury or because it hurt too much.
The following factors can affect how it feels.
- The distance you are shot from (with us you may not fire at anyone within 3 m).
- How your clothes fit – tight or loose.
- Muzzle velocity (all our markers have a muzzle velocity of 260–280 fps)
- The shells of paintballs can vary in hardness.
- The individual – pain is hard to measure objectively.
Risk of injury?
Paintball has gained an undeserved reputation as a “dangerous” sport. Insurance companies in the USA show the opposite. Statistics from 2003 compiled by the National Injury Information Clearinghouse of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission in Washington D.C. indicate that paintball is one of the safest sports there is. The statistics show that there are fewer injuries per exposure in paintball than in sports such as tennis, golf and bowling.
If you dress properly, follow the rules and ALWAYS wear a mask during the game, you have nothing to worry about.
How old do I have to be to play?
Everyone who plays on our field must either be 18+ or be at least 10 years old and have a guardian’s written consent. Make sure to bring your written consent so that we do not have to turn minors away.
If you are 10–12 years old you will, in addition to woodland camouflage coveralls, protective gloves, neck protection and a mask, also get a back and chest plate to wear under the coveralls. This plate effectively absorbs the energy from the paintball so that the force of the hit is very mild.
When we have players aged 10–12 on the field, we make sure all markers in the game have a reduced muzzle velocity of 200–230 fps instead of our usual 250–280 fps.
What are the paintballs made of?
The fill consists of, among other things, polyethylene glycol and vegetable oils, water-soluble dye and other biodegradable products. The paintballs break down completely in nature. They are thus both environmentally friendly and edible – though they do not taste very good.
Payment & gift cards
How do I use my gift card?
I have received a gift card. How do I use it with you?
Anyone who buys a gift card from us gets an SMS receipt for the purchase. The receipt shows your receipt number. You state this number when you book a time for your group. If you book through the booking form on the website, there is a field for the number. If you book by email, Facebook or phone, give us the same number that way. Of course you can also show it on site.
My gift card covers several starter packages. Can I use some and save the rest on the gift card?
No, a gift card is redeemed in full on one and the same occasion. If you have a gift card for, say, 10 Small starter packages but are only 8 players, the 2 Small starter packages left over cannot be saved for a later occasion. The gift card is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
Can I pay with Swish?
Yes, you can pay with Swish!
Can I pay by card out in the forest?
Yes, paying by card out at our field works perfectly well.
We always bring an iZettle card terminal that accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Diners Club, Maestro, V Pay and Electron. After the transaction you get a physical receipt and can also have a receipt sent by email and/or SMS.
iZettle is a Swedish company that develops services for commerce between both private individuals and companies. Its first service consists of an app and the world’s first small chip card reader, which turns a smartphone or tablet into an EMV-certified card terminal.

Standard or Low Impact Paintball – what is the difference?
Standard Paintball is traditional paintball with .68 caliber paintballs. This is the form of paintball most people know and love. As you may know, hits can be felt more or less, depending on the distance and how much protection you choose to wear. The fact that a paintball hit can sting a little is part of the adrenaline-boosting thrill that many people look for in this activity, but it is not for everyone, which is why we also offer Low Impact Paintball as an alternative.
Low Impact Paintball is the milder alternative – the same thrill, but without the sting. We use a smaller .50 caliber paintball which, at the same velocity as in Standard Paintball, delivers only about ⅓ of the impact energy. The result is a much gentler hit that players from the age of 10 can handle. It is not just for the youngest, but for anyone looking for the excitement and team spirit that paintball offers without the sting that can come with Standard Paintball.
How many do we need to be?
The smallest group we take is 6 players, unless we can book you together with another group.
You can play with fewer players, but our minimum price is 2 100 SEK/group, which corresponds to starter packages for 6 players.
If you would like to play with more people, you can open your booking so that others may join you. You do this by choosing “No, others are welcome to join our group.” for the question about playing as a Private group in the booking form. If you prefer to play on your own, leave it as “Yes, we want to play on our own.””
How many can play at the same time?
For Standard Paintball we can take groups of up to 40 players, and 20 for Low Impact Paintball.
For larger groups who want a milder sting, we recommend Standard Paintball with the option Juniors under 13 when you enter the age in our booking form. You will then play with regular Standard .68 caliber paintballs, but with the muzzle velocity reduced by 20–25% compared with our standard setting.
Booking at short notice
If you want to book at short notice and come out the same day, it is always best to call or use the chat so we can see whether it can be arranged.
Since we plan and prepare for bookings the day before, it is always best to book a little ahead. For this reason you cannot choose today’s date when booking through the form on the website. Sometimes, though, the urge to play comes suddenly – then just call and see if we can arrange something.
Note! There is a fee of 500 SEK for short-notice bookings where you want to play on the same day as you book.
